Friday

Long Overdue :-)

I know I've not been updating much lately, but I've really been busy.

I finally managed to hold a little 'do for relatives and neighbours a few weeks ago. Although I would have LOVED to invite a whole bunch of people, this will have to wait till Raya :-)

No pics, but I was really happy that Mak made the (really great) effort to come all the way here from Gombak. I heard she suffered though that evening, as her body was aching from all the travelling and so she could not sleep :-s

Anyway... here are some pics from our recent trip to Penang. Not many pics as this was a strictly "eating" trip so we concentrated more on FOOD :-D :-D :-D

This is our favourite place for baked crabs and prawns. Although this is among the more pricey places to go to, the way the crabs are prepared is unique and there's no other place (that I know of) that serves this. It is located in Tanjung Tokong.

For dinner, we had ikan bakar at the place opposite Seagate, another favourite place for us :-D

This was for the first day.

On the second day, we had nasi minyak for breakfast, then left for Sg Petani (my Uncle's place) for lunch. After lunch, we headed for Bandar Baru, to my grandmother's place. What else.... it was time for durians and rambutans, all fresh from the trees :-D :-D :-D

Dinner was at Nasi Kandar Beratur, next to the Kapitan Kling Mosque in town.

Third day, we had roti canai & murtabak for breakfast before leaving for KL. Our early lunch was at Tapah R&R, our favourite stall which served chicken rice, mee kicap, kway teow soup etc.

Oh yeah... a few weeks ago, I made these..........

Poppy Seed & Date Muffins

you need:
2 eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 tsp. vanilla essence
1/2 cup honey
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 cup chopped dates
1 cup finely grated carrots
1 Tbs poppy seeds

how to:
In a bowl, beat the oil, vanilla, eggs and honey until combined and slightly fluffy. Sift together the flour & baking powder and fold into the egg mixture. Gently fold in all other ingredients, careful not to overmix. Pour into lined muffin trays and bake in a pre-heated 180'C oven for about 12 - 15 mins, depending on your oven.

On Thursday, this was our simple dinner:

Simple Sour Prawn Soup
(no idea what to call this impromptu dish!!)

you need:
10 - 15 large prawns, cleaned and deveined
1 small piece galangal, bruised
1/2 large onion, sliced
1 large garlic, sliced
1.2 inch knob of ginger, sliced
2 - 3 pcs kaffir lime leaves
1 piece asam keping
1 Tbs fish sauce
a bit of sugar, to balance the sourness

how to:
In a pot, pour in about a cup (200ml) of water and add in all ingredients EXCEPT prawns, fish sauce & seasoning. Bring up to a rapid boil and leave to boil for about 5 minutes. Add in the fish sauce and prawns and cook until prawns are done. check seasoning; ready to serve.

p.s. you may add a few bruised cili padis as well if you want to make it spice. I ran out, so that was left out :-)

Oh yes... this is Aina's new 'house', which she's very fascinated and contented with... I can leave her here when I go off to work, and she wouldn't even bat an eye. Otherwise, she'll be crying as soon as she sees Ana!

And yeah... Aina's FINALLY standing, BUT she's still not confident enough to take a step anywhere!!

She loves mimicking us, and will event immitate sounds that she hears. Her latest hobby? To climb all the grilles in the house!!!!

M.A.L.A.S.

Cara pukul curi sangat-sangatlah keji!

Anyway, tak perlu sakit kepala lama-lama pasal gangguan macam ni, eloklah update gambar cheeky-pot Aina.

OKlah...malam pun dah makin larut (11.24pm larut ke??) so nak gi tido sebab esok keje.

Salam.........

AM

Aina @ 13 months

As usual... late entry as I've been busy with other stuff i.e. LIFE in general...

Here are some pics of Aina in her 13th month... ehehehe.
We'll be going to Penang (InsyaAllah) in July, so hope to take more pics later...

Nowadays, she's starting jabbering and chit chatting non-stop while her busy hands will be picking and throwing stuff about...

This very happy child, I am very grateful to have...
I feel really blessed that Aina has been nothing but an angel since in my tummy.

She may grow up to be very mischievous and test my patience, but at least for now, I am VERY grateful and thankful for her.....

AM

Wednesday

Delayed.

this is a short entry.... and oh! so.... delayed!!!

Congrats to my sis on her recent BIG day...

I wish her all the best, and hope she finds what she's looking for.

Things are never easy; we always have to WORK to make things work.... :-)

Remember that!!!

In the midst of moving house, this was the simple set of hantaran which I could come up with... VERY LIMITED time!!

AM

OH.MY.GOD!!!

It's been ridiculously topsy turvy for all of us...

First there was the preparation for the move, which thankfully, TokMi agreed to take Aina for the 4 days we needed to pack up and move house...

Followed by the move......

Then there was the wedding...........

And then the rest of the unpacking (which is still NOT done!) Huhuhuuuuuuuuuuuu...

And now, I switch on my laptop and it seems it's been invaded by worms and trojans, so I am currently updating this blog, while frantically transferring all the pics in my Desktop into my thumbdrive so that I can burn them into CD later.

I also need to update and respond to numerous requests on Facebeeok, but that's another issue altogether... LOL LOL LOL (or, is it??)

Anyway, our house now is basically 'empty' as I've yet to find the right sofa + $ combination (LOL LOL LOL), and the other 2 rooms upstairs are also bare with the exception of curtains. Aina's still sleeping in our room, but we've decided to hunt for a wardrobe system to install in her room as she has A LOT of clothes and she's taking up too much space in our (hubby & me) wardrobe, LOL LOL LOL

I absolutely LOOOOOVVEE my kitchen though :-D :-D :-D

Yes. I've taken some (very horrible looking) pics of the house, but since the internet is a bit off in this area, I'll wait a bit to add in the pics.

I do hope my friends who tirelessly visit this page are still willing to come back :-)

I've been horrible, I know...

(OK, the antivirus thingy is taking ages to download so I have time to try and put in pics here..)

Welcome to my living area which currently only has curtains, and a floor full of boxes....

and this is the little store under the stairs....

our dining area.... with Aina as the filler :-)

My kitchen :-) (with Ana as filler, ehehehehe)

our choice of location for the washing machine, extra stove and pots and pans that don't fit in the cabinets inside LOL LOL LOL

some of the mess that need to be taken care of... as hubby says "unfinished business!"

and this is our room :-)
sorry.. this is the only shot I could get that didn't show all the boxes strewn about, LOL LOL LOL

our dinner today :-) ehehehehhe

OK, it's late, and I now have to wake up VERY early so I'll see if I can do another update this weekend....

AM

Tuesday

AINA IS ONE!!!!!!!!!!! :-D

On the eve of Aina's birthday, 11th May, we went out for dinner at Johnny's Summit USJ. We ordered noodles for Aina, and steamboat for ourselves. Needless to say, I had to finish Aina's noodles, and ate her ice cream with her... ahahahah. She enjoyed Babah's Soursop & Guava juice as well.... :-D

After dinner, we stopped by MPH and Babah got her this book.....
She had a ball with it, until it was sleep time :-)

Then today, for lunch, TokMi took us to Tony Roma's, Cineleisure. It was supposed to be just TokMi, Aina and Uncle Maman, but since Aina wa a bit feverish in the morning, I decided to take her to the clinic. Then after her bath, my knee grazed one of the many boxes in the living room upstairs, and gave way, and so I crashed to the floor with Aina in my arms. Good thing nothing happened to her, and so we both ended up in the clinic.

Turned out Aina was fine, doc said maybe she felt warm to the touch in the morning when she woke up because she was heaty inside, but she was fine; temp was normal.

So, we decided to give Aina her shot.

I was a bit apprehensive because it's been months, and Aina now is more aware of her surroundings. Turned out, the girl is one tough cookie!!!

She just flinched slightly when doc jabbed her, and turned to look for the source of the 'discomfort' which was quickly forgotten... Yaaaayyyy Aina!!!

I am now nursing my knee, and Aina's asleep :-D :-D :-D

Aina In A Box

ahahahaha...

First of all, I really have to apologise for my poor updating efforts lately. It's been crazy getting things done and ready in time, and even then we are still not in the new place yet and Aina's birthday is just round the corner... huhuhuuuuuuu....

I was hoping to be in the new house by then, but I guess things happen for a reason.

And, YES KUCHAI!!! you are rite...!! been soooo busy packing and sorting stuff, until finally the above event took place LOL LOL LOL

The little cheeky-pot got into everything so finally her Babah put her in one of the boxes. She was so happy to be in it, that it didn't even bother her when Babah closed the box, ehehehehe...

Tomorrow morning, we'll (me and hubby) will be going to the house to out in curtains and wait for some stuff to be delivered, and Aina will not be in the way as she's safely tucked away in TokMi's place :-D :-D :-D

Last week, I was out of office for a few days, wandering around KL to survey and look for shots to be included in our new brochures. During the recce, we were fortunate enough to visit Aquaria (though am a bit sheepish to admit it was our first time there!). Our visit also coincided with their feeding time! :-) Needledd to say, it was a definite photo fest for me, hahahahahahaaa...

I am so embarassed that I have yet to finish editing pics from my photography workshop last month, and I REALLY have to work at it and try to come up with some decent shots to be contributed in the 'officially' set up Flickr page :-D :-D :-D
(ampuunnsss dear teacher!!!)

Anyway, our tentative moving date is around the week of the 20th of this month, so in the meantime, do forgive the lack of updates and pictures....

However, I will probably try my hardest to update tomorrow after taking pics of the house..... ehehehehehehe...
